About GrooveStar Studio

When I have a camera in my hand I am in my happy place. Photography is an art, and a means of creative expression. Photography is also technically complex with ever changing variables of light, movement, and a variety of dynamics that make it uniquely challenging. Creating an image while keeping all these factors in mind is an endeavor that I find especially satisfying.
Some areas of photography I specialize in:
Concerts: Since going to see my first concert (Bon Jovi) when I was 13 years old, I have loved going to concerts. I really enjoy capturing the energy and excitement of live performances. I have photographed many famous bands including Aerosmith, KISS, Florida Georgia Line, and Brad Paisley, just to name a few. I also frequently photograph local bands and youth musicians.
Dog Sports: I love dogs and I love photographing sports so I absolutely adore this type of photography! Capturing a dog in motion, and the joy of the moment, is priceless. Dog sports happen FAST… so capturing these moments of high energy and pure joy in photos is a way for people to see what they may never get to view in real time as it happens. For me, photographing dog sports is not only about preserving a moment in time of a dog doing what they love, but it is also about capturing the bond between a dog and their person. Our time with our dogs is never enough, and these memories are so important to preserve.
Rodeo: In 2018 I earned my card as an official PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Photographer). This is more than just a title. It is the culmination of 20 years of hard work and a strict PRCA approval process. I am honored that the PRCA has entrusted me to photograph and represent the sport of rodeo through my photography. One of my favorite rodeos to photograph is Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.
Sports: I have covered a wide variety of sports including roller derby, hockey, soccer, figure skating, motocross, cheerleading, and polo. I absolutely love capturing moments in time that happen so fast, you just might miss them with the naked eye. Photographing these moments of pure athleticism, competitive drive, and passion in an artful way is my goal.
Dog Portraits: Few things are more adorable that a pup smiling for the camera! Dogs are family and having special portraits of our dogs that we can enjoy for years to come is so important. I just love spending time with my fluffy clients, and working with them to create relaxed, happy photos. But it's not just about the dogs… often their people join in the fun and get in the picture to make lasting memories.
Portraits: I love photographing families and children. I have a knack for capturing special moments… a quick smiling glance between siblings, a warm embrace between parent and child, or a silly unplanned moment that showcases a person's personality. Outdoor portraits are my specialty and my fall family portrait sessions are popular.
Real Estate: I photograph each listing with careful attention to detail. Relators often say there must be some magic involved in my photography because regardless if I am photographing high end real estate or "fixer upper" properties, I often make them look better in photos than they do in real life. One realtor even told me that a buyer from out of state saw my photos online and put in an offer for $100,000.00 over asking price! I could not ask for a better endorsement of my photography!
My goal is to deliver images that not only meet your needs, but also exceed your expectations. Every photograph I make is carefully thought out on location, and fully edited in my studio after the photo shoot to insure the proper balance of light, color, and shadows. I have impeccable attention to detail and a "designer's eye" for composition.
